NEOTS i just added this Federation of India Community Associations(FICA) is an organization that represents the People of India who have emigrated to US and living in Cleveland, NE Ohio region. It represents 11,032 Indian Families emigrated to Cleveland and surrounding suburbs.
FICA represents highly skilled professionals in Medical, Engineering and IT sectors hailing from India. . More than 1/2 the Motels in the area are owned by the People of India emigrated from Gujarat. This organization was established in 1967 to mainly satisfy the longing for India in the immigrant population. Music, Literary pursuits of Indian Languages, traditions and culture of India was actively carried out and sponsored by FICA. India has many languages, traditions, religions and rituals that vary from region to region, and as the Indian population grew in Cleveland, smaller sister organizations spawned from the camaraderie of FICA Networks to promote their regional languages and rituals, Nevertheless FICA continued to served India as One Nation. FICA celebrates the India Independence around August 15th of every year and also celebrates India Republic Day around January 26th every year. FICA’s mission has changed and evolved to cater to growing and changing community needs. Currently actively partners with civic organizations like International Community Council, University Circle Incorporated, Cleveland State University, Tri-C to bring greater awareness and visibility amongst Indians to bring economic growth to US and Cleveland.
